Boulevard Rye on Rye 6

This 12.9% ABV rye ale aged in six year old Templeton Rye barrels is from the Boulevard Brewing Company of Kansas City, Missouri.  

The beer pours a medium dark brown. There is a half-inch of very light tan head. The aroma is whiskey, brown sugar, vanilla, oak, a touch of toasted rye. The taste accentuates the whiskey, but also hits the other aromas as well, very sweet without being cloying. The finish is sweet, with lingering spice from rye and rye whiskey. The beer drinks velvety smooth. This is very nice.
