The beer pours black, with a short,
thin head of tan that is very quick to dissolve away. The aroma is
sweet, molasses, dark fruit, brown sugar, and bourbon. The walnut and
coffee are present, but quite light. The taste follows the aroma,
hitting the same notes, with the coffee more present in the taste
than in the aroma. However, the coffee does not overwhelm, or even
take center stage. The beer is sweet, but there is some walnut and
oak astringency and bitterness on the finish. It drinks smooth and
soft, with very light carbonation.
