Sierra Nevada Winter Warmer Lager

This 6.7% ABV winter lager is from Sierra Nevada Brewing of Chico, California. It is part of their winter sampler pack. 

The beer pours a ruby and dark brown in color. There is a tall, thick, foaming head of tan. The aroma is malty, sweet, caramel, toffee, ripe plums. The taste follows the aromas, this is one very sweet and malty lager. There is a bit of nuttiness on the end, and some grassy bitterness comes in to tamp down the sweetness just a bit. The beer has a medium body and drinks with moderate carbonation.
