Iowa Brewing The Red Thing

This 7.1% ABV American Strong Ale is from the Iowa Brewing Company of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. 

The beer pours a deep, gem-like amber in color. There is nearly an inch of light tan head. The aroma is malty, darkened caramel, dark fruits, light pine resin. The taste follows the aromas, caramel, fruit, with a tangy, bitter finish. The beer drinks surprisingly light and easy, but with enough body to hold up its flavors. The beer has a moderate carbonation, and a fruity, tangy, bitter aftertaste.
