Firestone Walker Lager

This 4.5% ABV lager is from Firestone Walker Brewing Company of Paso Robles, California. At first glance, the can looks almost generic, but upon closer inspection there are light silver representations of the Firestone Walker bear and lion on each side of the front. Craft has come full circle, and you are seeing a lot more releases of straightforward lagers. 

The beer pours a clear, light golden in color. There is an inch of white foaming head, not particularly long lasting. The aroma is bright, grassy, dry grain in a bucket, with light hay and light bread dough. The taste follows the aromas, a bit sweet bread dough, a bit dry grain and straw, and a bit grassy. The finish is very clean, mostly dry, with a light bitterness. The beer drinks easy with crisp and refreshing carbonation. This is a good tasting thirst quencher of a lager.
