Left Hand Brewing Black Jack Porter

The Left Hand Brewing Company is in Longmont, Colorado by the St.Vrain River. This is their 6.8% ABV porter.

The beer pours a very dark brown and ruby, nearing black. There is a relatively short head of tan foam that is not long lasting. The aroma is dark roasted malt, mostly char, with light black licorice. The taste has lots of dark roatsed malt notes, lots of chocolate added into the aroma notes. There is sweetness, but the finish is mostly dry, with a mild bitterness. The beer drinks smooth and easy.
