This 6.8% ABV sour apricot ale is from the Odell Brewing Company of Fort Collins, Colorado. Its name comes from the Persian name for apricots.
The beer pours a hazy dried apricot in
color. There is a half-inch of white head that rapidly fizzles away.
The aroma is tart, with light apricot and toasted grain, and a bit of
leathery funkiness, becoming marigold flowers. The taste follows the
aromas, with mouth-curling sourness, and lighter notes of fruit,
flower and leathery funk. The beer drinks with tiny, intense bottle
conditioned carbonation. The finish is extremely dry. I love Odell,
but sorry to say this does not inspire me much.
