Ballast Point Watermelon Dorado

This 10.0% ABV Double India Pale Ale is from the Ballast Point Brewing Company of San Diego, California. It takes their regularDorado DIPA and adds natural watermelon flavor.

The beer pours the color of honey, with an orange tint. There is a tall off-white foamy head. The aroma is watermelon, sweet, tangy, with underlying IPA hoppiness; a beer Jolly Rancher. The beer tastes just like the aroma, it is seriously an IPA beer version of a Watermelon Jolly Rancher. The beer drinks very smooth and round, sweet, but with a fairly intense bitterness on the finish that turns it dry. It is hard to believe this is 10.0% ABV, so watch out!
