The beer pours a very dark brown, all
but black. There is a short, tight, somewhat creamy head of tan foam.
The aroma is sweet, yet nutty, dark roasted malt, nearing hazelnut,
nicely roasted. The taste is dark roasted malts, chocolate, nuts,
sweet, yet dry. The finish has a light bitterness, along with the
astringent bitterness of coffee. The beer drinks easy, smooth, and
lightly carbonated. This is one really good brown ale.
