The beer pours black in color. There is an inch of light
brown head, thick and foamy. The aroma is sweet, milky, dark roasted, dark
chocolate, some char and a bit of a mineral tang. The taste follows the same
notes as the aromas, and ups the char. The beer drinks round and smooth, with a
moderate bitterness on the finish. This is a well-flavored and very drinkable
stout. This is the best of the three Hobbit beers.
