Great Lakes High Striker Single

 This 4.8% ABV Belgian-style golden ale is from the Great Lakes Brewing Company of Cleveland, Ohio. It was part of their spring sampler pack. It uses a bit of wheat.

The beer pours a hazy yellow, nearing lemon curd. There is a relatively short head of white foam. The aroma is yeasty, esters, banana, clove, flowers, with some sweetness. The taste follows the aromas, lots of yeast flavors over floury, dough-like malt. The finish is dry and fairly bitter. The beer drinks smooth, easy, with a pleasant tingle of carbonation. There is a lot of flavor packed into this beer.
