Surly Coffee Bender

This is the 5.1% ABV Bender with coffee added, from the Surly Brewing Company of Brooklyn Center (and now Minneapolis), Minnesota. Surly is the "Beer For A Glass, From A Can" or in this case "Beer For A Mug, From A Can."

The beer pours the same dark brown and ruby as Bender. The head is taller, thicker, creamier, but still tan in color. The aroma is a massive aromatic wave of fresh cold-pressed coffee. The taste puts that wave of coffee over a hopped brown ale. Coffee predominates and prevails, but it sits nicely on the bed of a solid brown ale. This is a really great coffee beer, aromatic and tasty, simply said, so nothing more to say.
