Twisted Pine Hop Zealot IPA

This is a 6.7% ABV India Pale Ale from the Twisted Pine Brewing Company of Boulder, Colorado. It uses Columbus, Simcoe and Amarillo hops. 

The beer pours burnt orange and the color of dried apricots. There is a relatively short head of off-white foam. The aroma is orange, citrus, some lush tropical notes, light peach and light  pine. The taste follows the aromas, is earthy, the pine increases and the hops are over a solid caramel malt base. The finish is dry and quite bitter, with a quinine-like effect. The beer drinks smooth and round with a moderate carbonation.
