The beer pours an opaque black in color. There is an inch of
thick, foamy dark khaki head. The aroma is dark roasted malt, coffee, pleasant
char, dark and bittersweet chocolate. The tastes match the aromas note for
note, with just a hint of black licorice. The beer drinks easy, but has enough
body to match its hefty flavors. The finish is dry and moderately bitter. This
is one of those beers that doesn’t generate a whole lot to say about it, but
that should not be confused for it not being one powerfully good beer. Simply
delicious.
