The beer pours black in color, lots of dark ruby when held
to the light. There is nearly an inch of thick and foamy beige head. The aroma
is tangy and dark fruits, pine, all up front, with more subtle dark roasted
malt, and char, in the background. The flavor is beautiful, rich, sweet, tangy
fruit, along with pine, melding into bittersweet dark roasted malt, dark
chocolate. The finish is moderately bitter. The beer drinks elegantly smooth
and soft. This is transcendentally divine, as good a representation of this style as there is out there.
