Begyle Maybe Next Summer

Time to get the last of the summer beers out of my fridge, and what better way to do it than with this aptly named "late summer ale." This is a 6.5% ABV brew from Begyle Brewing of Chicago, Illinois. This is batch #65 from this Community Supported Brewery. If you live in the area, you can get an annual subscription and you get a certain number of growlers each month, like community supported agriculture, or CSA's, for farms.

The beer pours a dark honey golden, amber and copper in color. It has a relatively short head of off-white foam. The aroma is toasted malt, deep fruit, peaches, almost grassy note. The taste takes the aromas and bumps them up a  notch, very nice combination of toasted malts and a soft, round fruitiness, reminding me mostly of peaches. The beer has a nice, soft, moderate carbonation and is also soft and round in the mouth, with a somewhat dry and very lightly bitter finish. This is very nice, I would love to try it again, well, maybe next summer...
