The beer pours black as coal, with just a hint of very dark
brown and very dark ruby when held to the light. There is a tall, foamy head
that is tan in color. The aroma is dark roasted malt, beautifully charred, with
some coffee. The taste follows the aromas, lots of dark roasted flavors,
perfect char, light coffee, dark chocolate in a very harmonious blend. It is
medium bodied with some smoothness and a carbonation that is noticeable, but
stays in the background. The finish is fairly dry with a moderate bitterness.
This is one of the finest porters you’ll try.
