Kronenbourg 1664

This 5.0% ABV lager beer is from the Brasseries Kronenbourg in Strasbourg, France. The beer pours a dark honey golden, nearly a light touch of amber, in color. There is a tall head of thick, white foam, with fairly good retention. The aroma is malty, golden grain, straw, grassy, with a touch of honey. The taste hits all of the same notes as the aromas. There is a touch of sweetness, but it is held in check by a light grassy bitterness. The finish is dry. It is well carbonated and drinks refreshing. This is a solid, malty, European lager.
