Great River Chickawawa Lemonale

This 4.8% lemon ale is from the Great River Brewery of Davenport, Iowa (originated as the Old Capitol Brew Works and Public House in Iowa City, Iowa). According to the can it is "That girly drink that men will secretly drink from time to time 'just to taste it.'" Part of the twelve ounce can Session Series from Great River, this one says to "Pucker Up!" So, let's do that and see how it tastes.

The beer pours honey golden in color with a hint of orange. There is a short and thin white head. The aroma is lemony, lemon juice, lemon peel, lemon zest. A bit of toasted wheat gets in beneath the lemon. The taste follows the aromas, this is lemony and a bit creamy. It is moderately carbonated and quickly fades away leaving a fairly clean, but somewhat lemony, palate. This would be a good summertime beer.
