This India Pale Ale is from the Cortland Beer Company of Cortland, New York. The beer pours a hazy burnt orange, dried apricot, and
amber. There is a tall head of thickly foamy off-white to very light tan head.
The aroma is orange, light apricot, light passion fruit, over a caramel malt
base. The taste follows the aromas directly. It is a little too tart on the end
for the style. The bitterness is light to moderate, especially for the style.
It is medium-bodied and moderately carbonated.
This is the kind of uninspired, "well, we should have an IPA in our line-up", mediocre and disappointing IPA that
is all too common. There is a lot of IPA chaff to get through to find the very
tasty and inspired grains of “wheat” that make IPA’s so worthwhile. This is
drinkable (just).
