Jolly Pumpkin E.S. Bam

This is a 4.7% ABV bottle-conditioned hoppy farmhouse ale from Jolly Pumpkin Artisan Ales of Dexter, Michigan. This is batch 1072 bottled on 4-16-2012. I wish it was fresher, bu it was in the discount bin ($4), and I figured it worth a try. Bam is the brewery's Extra Special Dog who survived being hit by a car.

The beer pours a hazy dark amber and medium copper brown in color. There is a massive, foaming head that is off-white to very light brown in color. The aroma is very floral and very yeasty, with an earthy, funky, tangy tartness. The taste follows the aromas, all sitting over roasted malt. The finish is fairly bitter and quite dry. This is massively floral, yeasty and funky. There is much leather in the taste as well. It is finely and intensely carbonated, true to its bottle conditioned style. This is like drinking old, dusty leather, infused with marigolds and geraniums, but in an oddly pleasant way.
