Great River Aaah Bock

This is a 6.0% ABV bock lager from the Great River Brewery of Davenport, Iowa. Great River Brewery started in October of 2004 as a Brew Pub in Iowa City.  In December of 2008 they moved their brewing operation to Davenport. This beer uses pale, Munich and caramel malts, along with noble hops. 

The beer pours mahogany and garnet in color. There is about an inch of thick light tan head, somewhat creamy. The aroma is roasted, toasted, nutty, caramel, plums and prunes, grassy and tangy. The taste follows the aromas directly, lots of malt flavors, roasted and fruity, with a dry and lightly bitter finish. Medium body and medium carbonation make it easy to drink.
