This 5.9% ABV porter is brewed with five
different malts including chocolate wheat, along with cocoa nibs. It is from the Boulder Beer Company of Boulder, Colorado.
The beer pours black in appearance, dark
blood ruby when held to the light. There is over an inch of thick and creamy
head, light brown in color, like coffee with lots of cream. The aroma is full
of chocolate, cocoa powder, with dark roasted malt and just a hint of mocha
coffee. The taste follows the aromas, there is even more coffee in the flavor
than the aroma, but a nice cocoa and milk chocolate predominates. The mouthfeel
is light. This is the Nesquik of beer!
