Squatters Hop Rising Double India Pale Ale

This 9.0% ABV beer is from Squatters Beers, part of the Utah Brewers Cooperative of Salt Lake City, Utah. It has 75 IBU's. The beer pours copper and amber with orange tones.  It has a medium head of light brown foam that leaves thick and sticky lacing down the glass.  The aroma is hop forward, spicy and funky, with some melon and grapefruit, and a solid malty base.  The taste is overripe melon, funky, fruity and roasted and caramel, smooth malt.  The alcohol is apparent. The finish is fairly dry and quite bitter. Big, round and bold.
