Clown Shoes Galactica IPA

Clown Shoes Beer comes from the Mercury Brewing Company of Ipswich, Massachusetts. This is a 8.0% ABV India pale ale that has been dry hopped with Galaxy hops. It features "Galactica" a strange hop staff-wielding, karate kicking cosmic super heroine. Okay.

The beer pours a solid, gleaming copper in color. There is a short and short-lived head of off-white foam. The aroma is fruity, lightly herbal, with ample malt. There is a lot of subdued overripe melons and tropical fruit. The beer drinks surprisingly light and has a very pleasant, almost perfectly balanced and melded blend of hops and malt. It is sweet, yet tangy, bitter, yet smooth. There is some light, sweet tobacco in the background. It has a nice round medium-bodied mouthfeel. This isn't a mind blower of an IPA, except that it is, because it is absolutely SMOOTH in every way. I suggest they change the name to Smooth Galactica Nectar.
