Mikkeller is a brewery based in Denmark. It beers its brews in breweries all over the world. This beer was brewed at De Proef Brouwerij in Lochristi-Hijfte, Belgium. This is an American-style wheat ale that is 1.9% ABV. Yes, you read that right, and no, it is not a typo, that is just 1.9% ABV. It will be interesting to see what flavors they develop at such low alcohol.
The beer pours a hazy amber and dirty apricot in color. There is a tall head of thick, yet ragged head, a dirty off-white in color. It is well carbonated. The aroma is toasted wheat, light lemon, and a bit of a yeasty tang. The taste follows the aromas directly, wheat, lemon and yeast in that order. The finish gives a taste of iced tea with lemon. The finish is surprisingly bitter. It is definitely light bodied. This drinks, easy, crisp, refreshing, tasty, nice beer, but great for hot weather especially (and the alcohol is definitely not going to slow you down).
