Bell's Hell Hath No Fury Ale

This 7.5% s beer from Bell's Brewing Company of Kalamazoo, Michigan blends a Belgian-style dubbel with a stout. The beer pours black in color with a latte, light brown foam that disappears quickly. There are tons of discernible aromas, dark roasted malt, coffee, tangy, earthy, leathery, cloves, sweet sarsparilla and alcohol. The taste is spices, cloves, coffee, dark roasted malt, some sweetness, but tempered by the coffee and herbal bitterness. The mouthfeel is pleasantly light considering all the flavors. This beer is worth trying.

Tried again with the 2015 release; it didn't seem quite as complex, but was sure tasting good: The beer pours an extremely dark brown, appearing mostly black, except on the edges. There is a half inch of tan head. The aroma is dark roasted, a bit smokey, dark fruits, cherries. The taste is deep, sweet, rich, dark roasted, a bit of char. The finish is dry and lightly bitter. The beer drinks smooth, with a fine, but relatively intense, bottle-conditioned like carbonation.
