Bell's Amber Ale

Bell's Brewery is in Comstock, Michigan.  Their amber ale is 5.8% ABV.

The beer pours a light and bright amber and copper in color.  It is well carbonated and there is a tall half-inch of creamy head, off-white in color.  The aroma is malty, tangy, lightly fruity, just a good and solid, quintessential "beer" aroma.  The taste is malty, toasted, touch of caramel, light plum fruit, and a dry and quite bitter finish.  The mouthfeel is both creamy and carbonated.  This beer was first brewed in 1985, and it remains a solid classic.

2017: The beer pours a hazy amber and light orange in color. There is a relatively short head of light tan foam. The aroma is malty and tangy, caramel and fruit, a touch of yeast. The taste is very malty, huge caramel, toffee, followed by bittering hops. There is malt sweetness, but a mostly dry finish. The beer drinks with a medium body, and moderate carbonation.
