The Straub Brewery is in St. Mary's, Pennsylvania. This is their 4.1% ABV lager. The brewery was founded in 1831. Peter Straub arrived in St. Mary's in 1872 and became the owner of the brewery in 1878. It is the country's smallest surviving pre-Prohibition brewery. If you take their tour, at the end you get to drink from their Eternal Tap.
The beer pours a golden yellow in color. There is a tall half-inch of thick, white head. The aroma is grain and corn with a light lager funkiness. The taste is golden grain and corn, a touch of sweet, a touch of green apple tart with a smooth finish, very little bitterness. The beer is nicely carbonated and tingles in the mouth. This is a basic American adjunct lager.
