The beer pours lightly hazy, dark honey golden and orange-apricot in color. There is a tall thickly foamy head, off-white in color. The aroma is hop forward, orange marmalade, apricot, melon, overripe tropical fruit, with the alcohol discernible, but not obtrusive. There is a malty sweetness, aromatic. The taste is big and chewy, a dense and slightly sweet scone with gobs of fruit jams and marmalade on top, ending in a grassy, intense bitterness. The finish is massively bitter, but held back by the sweetness that smooths out the edges of the bitterness, throwing in grapefruit rind and apricot jam. This beer is big in every way.
“A fine beer may be judged with only one sip, but it is better to be thoroughly sure.” -Czech Proverb
