This Oktoberfest marzen beer is from the Brauerei Aying, in Aying, Germany.
This beer has one of the best bottle caps in beer history. I could not get a clear photograph of it due to its small size, but I call it "bucolic beer drinking scene." The beer pours a light copper-orange-amber in color with a half-inch of thick, creamy, foamy head that is just a tad off-white, and leaves a medium density of sticky lacing down the glass. The aroma is redolent of clean, stored grain, fresh straw, some lagerish "funk", and a light caramel-like sweetness. The taste follows the aromas, malty, slightly sweet, but well balanced with bitterness on the finish. This is an excellent Oktoberfest beer.
