Millstream Brewing Co. John's Generations White Ale

The Millstream Brewing Co. is in Amana, Iowa and this is the beer that they originally brewed in honor of fifty years and three generations of family running John's Grocery in Iowa City, Iowa (since 1948).  John's is a beer mecca.

This beer pours a cloudy and glowing bright yellow with a small white head.  The aroma is very spicy, coriander, cloves, allspice and yeast over a wheat malt base.  The taste is smooth and round, incorporating all of the aromas, with none predominating or overpowering, very well balanced.  I am not always a big fan of white ales, they are just not my style and too yeasty, but this one is a really well done example of the style.
