Flying Dog Dogtoberfest Marzen

This pours a dark copper to light brown in color.  The aroma is very malty, slightly sweet and caramel.  The flavor is intensely malty, sweet, with a bitter finish.  This is 5.6% ABV and it tastes like it is 9.6% ABV.  It is incredibly full-flavored to the point of heaviness.  Flying Dog Brewery is out of Frederick, Maryland.  Their labels are drawn by Ralph Steadman, who illustrated for Hunter S. Thompson.  There is a Hunter quote on the bottles, "Good people drink good beer."
