Trouble Brewing Red Flag Amber Ale

Walmart now sells a proprietary "craft" beer sampler, from Trouble Brewing of Rochester, New York (guessing contract brewed by Genesee). The 12 pack sampler contains four different beers: a pale ale, amber ale, IPA, and white ale. This is the 4.5% ABV amber ale.

The beer pours a very light amber in color, nearly the color of cream soda. There is over a half-inch of white head, not particularly long lasting. The aroma is malty, caramel, light fruit, a very light touch of nuttiness, and some grassy bitterness. The taste is malty, lots of caramel, sweetness shows from the honey, but enough hops to not let it get too sweet. The finish is sweet, but nearing dry, with light bitterness. The beer drinks smooth with tingling carbonation, very easy to drink. This is probably the best of the four.
