Kalona Bulltown Brown

This is a 6.2% ABV brown ale. It is from the Kalona Brewing Company of Kalona, Iowa. Their motto: "Heavenly Beers Brewed by Mere Mortals." 

The beer pours a very dark brown with hints of dark ruby. There is an inch of light tan foam that dissipates away nearly entirely. The aroma is nutty caramel malt. The taste is malty, very nutty, roasted and toasted, caramel, with just a touch of dark fruits. The finish is dry with a moderately bitter, grassy finish. The beer drinks easy with a tingling, refreshing, carbonation. This is a very nice take on a brown ale.
