Toppling Goliath Xhops Gold Pale Ale

The Toppling Goliath Brewing Company is in Decorah, Iowa. This is the most recent release in their X-hop series of pale ales using experimental hops.

The beer pours a hazy dark dried apricot and light orange amber in color. There is over an inch of thick, foamy, white head that leaves curtains of sticky lacing down the glass. The aroma is bright and vibrant, citrus, pineapple, tropical fruits, mango, guava, juicy and pithy, along with earthy dankness. The taste follows the aromas, loads of citrus and tropical fruit, mango skins, earthy, yet bright, dank, yet fruity. The finish is dry and moderately bitter. The beer drinks smooth, ripe, and round, with a subtle background tingle of carbonation. If you are familiar with TG beers, this is like a perfect blending of Zeelander, Pompeii, Golden Nugget and Pseudo Sue, blended like alchemy into Gold!
