New Glarus Scream IIPA

The New Glarus Brewing Company is in New Glarus, Wisconsin. They are only distributed in Wisconsin. Their beers are tasty, yet very accessible. They are not known for hop forward beers, but they do a good job when they make one. Their Moon Man No Coast Pale Ale is highly underrated and a great hoppy American pale ale. This Imperial India Pale Ale is from their Thumbprint series. It has 85 IBU's and uses estate grown hops along with other Wisconsin grown hops.

The beer pours amber, copper and orange in color. There is an inch of thick, foamy, off-white head. The aroma is passion fruit, guava, ripe melons, tangy, yet musky. The taste is passion fruit, guava, mango skin, melons, muskiness, round, ripe, smooth, with a tang on the end. The bitterness is moderate to strong. The beer drinks very smooth, with a tingling carbonation. The first swallow sparks your brain, this is very nice.
