Off Color Troublesome

This is a 4.% ABV spiced wheat beer from Off Color Brewing of Chicago, Illinois. It's malts are Pils, Wheat, Flaked Wheat and Oats. For hops, it uses Northern Brewer. It's "secret ingredients" are coriander and lactobacillus for sourness.

The beer pours a pure yellow golden, just a shade darker than champagne. There is a short and short-lived white head of foam. The aroma is tart, a whiff of smoke, very lightly spiced. The taste is a delicate and delicious balance of tartness and coriander, with just enough toasted wheat to keep the tartness from taking off too much. It is lightly carbonated, nears a vinous quality of fresh white wine, but much lighter. Exquisitely balanced, well done.
