The beer pours a hazy yellow golden. There is a half-inch of
pure white head that fizzles out fairly quickly. The aroma is lightly tart,
banana yeast, toasted wheat. The taste follows the aromas, but is magnified,
the aroma being fairly light, the taste being a nice, healthy dose of banana.
There is a note of floral, and a touch of sweet, but the finish is moderately
dry with very little bitterness. It has a light sting of carbonation, but
nothing like the carbonation in the 1984. Solid, I think a blend of half 1984
and half 2014 might be excellent!
“A fine beer may be judged with only one sip, but it is better to be thoroughly sure.” -Czech Proverb

Schell's 30th Anniversary Hefeweizen Series 2014 Recipe
This beer is part of the 30th Anniversary Hefeweizen Series from the August Schell Brewing Company of New Ulm, Minnesota. They were established in 1860 and I believe they are the second oldest family owned brewery in the United States, behind Yuengeling (this is the 30th anniversary of their original hefeweizen release, not of the brewery itself). This sampler pack contained the 1984 Recipe, the 2014 Recipe, a Weizenbock, and a Dampfbier.
