Seef Bier

Seef is a 6.5% ABV Belgian beer is from the Antwerpse Brouw Compagnie of Antwerp, Belgium. It is a revival of an old, lost style that was popular in Antwerp up until World War One.

The beer pours a hazy apricot and honey golden in color. There is a very tall, fizzy, foamy head of white. The aroma is like the combination of a hefeweizen and a gose along with Belgian yeast. It is tangy, with banana, a mineral quality and light saltiness, with a yeasty fruitiness over hanging it all, along with some bread dough and toasted wheat. The taste follows the sensation of the aromas, it is both tangy and mineraly, with lots of banana. It has an intense, fine carbonation and ends fairly dry. This is really delicious stuff.
