New Belgium Summer Helles

This 5.0% ABV helles lager is a new release from New Belgium Brewing of Fort Collins, Colorado. "Helles" or "hell" is German for pale and describes the color of these lager beer. New Belgium have  had four new releases this spring, and they all begin with "S"; Snapshot, Sunshine, Spring Blonde and Summer Helles.

The beer pours a very pale yellow and golden, clear. There is a medium head of white foam. The aroma is grain, straw, grass, clean, with some lager “funk.” The taste follows the aromas straight down the line. It is light bodied and crisply carbonated. Not much needs to be said, this is simple, straight-forward, delicious; a very enjoyable lager beer.
