The beer pours a crystal clear light amber in color. There
is a tall head of somewhat thick white foam. The aroma is malty, toasted,
caramel, with some citrus, flowers and grass. The taste follows the aromas
directly, this is a very malty lager, semi-sweet, followed by a wave of tangy,
biting, grassy hops. It is very smooth, medium-bodied, with a light, soft
carbonation, that manages to still add a crispness to the finish. I could get
used to drinking this lakeside regularly.
“A fine beer may be judged with only one sip, but it is better to be thoroughly sure.” -Czech Proverb

Lake Monster Calhoun Claw Pilsener
Lake Monster Brewing is from Minneapolis, Minnesota. Their beers are currently contract brewed (with hands on involvement by their own brewer) at the Sand Creek Brewing Company in Black River Falls, Wisconsin. They hope to open a brewery at some future point in the Twin Cities. Lake Calhoun is in Minneapolis, and is apparently home to a monstrous crustacean waiting to eat unsuspecting persons floating on inner tubes.
