Schwaben Brau Heller Bock

This is a helles, or pale, bock from Dinkelacker-Schwaben Brau of Stuttgart, Germany. It is 7.3% ABV and like many bock beers, has a goat on the label (the style apparently originated in the town of Einbeck, which got misprounounced "ein Bock," a billy goat).

The beer pours a dark honey golden, nearing a tint of copper. There is about an inch of white foam. The aroma is malty, somewhat sweet, sweet hay, straw and grass. The taste follows the aromas directly. The beer is medium-bodied, with a refreshing, moderate carbonation. This is a straightforward classic German helles bock, very enjoyable.
