Ridgeway Bad Elf Winter's Ale

This is a 6.0% ABV highly hopped winter ale from the Ridgeway Brewing Company of Oxfordshire, United Kingdom. They use nearly three pounds of fresh hops in every barrel.

The beer pours a hazy amber in color with over an inch of thick off-white head. The aroma is redolent of fresh cut tall grass, tangy, apples and not fully ripened plums, toasted malt, and sourdough bread. The taste is tangy fruit and grassy, with the toasted, bready malt. The finish is exquisitely dry and moderately bitter. This is their winter ale, but it would be refreshing on a warm day too.
