Maine Beer Company Peeper Ale

This is a bottle conditioned 5.5% ABV American pale ale from the Maine Beer Company of Freeport, Maine. The brewery purchases green energy, donates spent grain to local farmers, and gives one percent of its sales to environmental  non-profits. This beer uses American 2-Row, CaraPils, Vienna, and Red Wheat malts; and has US Magnum, Amarillo, Cascade, and Centennial hops.

The beer pours honey golden with a light orange tint. There is a very tall and thick head of white foam. The aroma is hop forward, clean and bright, mango, citrus, passion fruit, floral, and lightly grassy. The taste puts all the hop notes from the aroma over a toasted malt base that is discernible on its own, but works as a perfect base and foil for all that hop goodness. It is moderately bitter and refreshingly crisp and dry on the finish. This beer is a lot of adjectives, elegant, bright, flavorful, fruity, just to name a few. Find it. Drink it.
