Keg Creek Wabash Wheat

The Keg Creek Brewing Company is in Glenwood, Iowa. The brewery is named after a nearby creek which was originally named Five Barrel Creek for the illicit whiskey found there in the mid-1800's.  This is an unfiltered American wheat ale that is named after the Wabash Trace Nature Trail, a nearby trail on an old railroad line.

The beer pours a hazy honey golden in color. There is a tall head of fizzy and thin white foam. The aroma is toasted wheat and lemon. The taste follows along, toasted wheat, lemon, with a light earthy and tangy yeastiness. The finish is moderately bitter and dry. It is strongly, crisply and refreshingly carbonated. Not quite as hoppy as some American wheats, but still good. It would be nice to get off the bike trail and dig into a pint of this!
