Omnipollo Moebius

This 8.5% ABV Imperial IPA is from Omnipollo of Stockholm, Sweden. They craft recipes in home brew style and then brew them in breweries around the world (much like Mikkeller, Evil Twin and Pretty Things). They are imported by Twelve Percent Imports. This beer was brewed at De Proef Brouwerij, Lochristi, Belgium. What is a Moebius? It is a word that describes the shape you see on the front of the bottle, a rectangular strip attached to itself and twisted.

The beer pours a very cloudy orange and amber. There is a half inch of thick off-white foam. The aroma is hop forward, very ripe melon, especially cantaloupe, fruit at a tropical market on a humid day, and some pine. The taste follows the aromas, lots of very ripe fruit, sweet malt balanced out by the pine and bitter hops. The bitterness is only moderate, but the finish is very dry. Overall a very nice Imperial IPA.
