Mikkeller Yeast Series 2.0 - American-Style

Mikkeller is a brewery based in Denmark. It beers its brews in breweries all over the world. This beer was brewed at De Proef Brouwerij in Lochristi-Hijfte, Belgium. It is 6.4% ABV and part of their Yeast Series 2.0 where several beers were brewed with identical recipes, except a different yeast in each. There are six beers in the series, and I came across four of them. The base recipe is essentially a pale ale, and this one uses an American yeast.

The beer pours a deep copper and amber in color with a tall head of thick and creamy off-white foam. The aroma is very floral, and a bit tart on the end. The taste is floral over caramel malt, with a very bitter finish. It is  highly carbonated. So far the only disappointment of the series.
