Founders Imperial Stout

This 10.5% ABV beer is from the Founders Brewing Company of Grand Rapids, Michigan and also has a hefty 90 IBU's. They don't call it a "Russian" Imperial Stout, but the logo is a double headed eagle wearing crowns and with scepter and orb, the coat of arms of Tsarist Russia.

The beer pours black as black, viscous, with a short and thin head of dark brown foam. The aroma is somewhat sweet, but bitter, dark chocolate and milk chocolate, coffee, mocha, with a milky tang. The taste is thick, rich, very dark roasted malt, strong coffee, dark chocolate, milky, creamy, sweet, bitter, tangy, chocolate and pleasant char. The finish is quite bitter with a metallic tang. This is hardcore, excellent, tasty, but not for the faint of heart.
