St. Ambroise The Great Pumpkin Ale

This 5.0% ABV ale brewed with pumpkin and spices is from McAuslan Brewing of Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

The beer pours a deep, yet clear, brown and copper in color. There is a tall head of off-white to light brown foam. The aroma is malty, caramel a bit nutty, with spices. The taste follows the aromas, there is malt and holiday spices, not much pumpkin up front. The malt is dark roasted along with caramel. The initial wave gives way to a touch more pumpkin, in a light pumpkin bread way. There is some tingling carbonation, but the mouthfeel overall is watery. A fair to middling pumpkin brew.
